Camp Dogs

Dogs running lose is a very common sight in many Aboriginal communities. Often referred to as camp dogs these packs of dogs seem to belong to the community as a whole rather than a sepcific owner. There is a group of about ten dogs that seems to live in the area around my house. There are other roaming groups that come to visit and it can get quite noisy when two groups have a go at each other.

Some of them look like normal pet dogs, but there also appears to be a characteristic camp dog kind of look. Weird big ears that makes them look bat-like, bony Kelpie-like body shape, as spooky posture and look in the eyes ...

The black dog on the photo has 'it' significantly (espec. the ears) and some of the other ones in the top photos. The bottom photo just look like any standard pet dog.

We have one... a rescued camp dog (puppy) from NT. She is a very good dog, smart and very social, has learned to enjoy city life very quickly.

Ps. My comment feed app doesn't accept the blogger platform so if you reply then I probably won't notice any time soon.
